FAQ: How do the Search Engines find a website?
Search Engines send out Crawlers or Robots (bots) to find sites and bring them back to their database and index them. Then the SEs use complex algorithms to analyse factors such as page content, the number and quality of sites that link to your pages, and the relevance of your site’s content to keywords. Because these algorithms are not human-mediated you cannot pay to boost your site’s relevance ranking on the organic FREE search engine results pages SERP.

FAQ: My website doesn't appear on the Search Engines?
There could be a number of reasons, the most common are:
1. Your website url has not been submitted to the Search Engines.
2. Your website url was submitted incorrectly.
3. Your website has not been optimised correctly and has not been found by the Crawlers (or 'bot) when they are searching for listings to bring back to the SE database.
FAQ: My website used to appear on the Search Engines but it suddenly stopped appearing?
This may indicate:
1. you need to re-optimise your website;
2. your website has been removed by the SE for keyword spamming;
3. you need to re-submit your website;only
a professional website evaluation will reveal the problem.

FAQ: What is Search Engine Optimisation?
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the practice of guiding the development of a website to ensure that it is indexed by search engines and directories to appear in the top search engine results pages (SERP) of a search relevant to the site's product or service. Although you cannot directly influence your site’s ranking, optimisation
of site design, architecture and technical implementation of elements that are search engine friendly will enable high ranking by most search engines and ensure you receive sustained traffic.

FAQ: How do I optimise my website?
You need to understand how the Search Engines rank websites, they are dynamic tools that change constantly especially their algorithms, different search engines use different algorithms. SE algorithms are complex and there are many, many tricks. besides the known techniques, professional Optimisers know and apply to achieve success with SE ranking. A good tip is to experiment with different optimisation techniques, what might succeed with one SE may not be successful with another.

At the outset of your web development it's important to develop a strategic optimisation plan and work-out your optimisation techniques.

Many factors are involved in optimisation e.g. text content, less graphics, understanding the relation of keywords and keyword density, how to create title and meta tags, the role of the site map and link popularity,
just to name a few!

To be successful you must take the time to learn all the optimising techniques and tricks and keep abreast of current SEO trends.

If your online business depends on your website being found when a searcher is looking for your product or service (and let's face it, whose doesn't?) and you're in doubt about how to optimise your site for success,
consult a SEO company, it's false economy not to get professional assistance.

FAQ: How do I submit my website to the Search Engines?
There are two methods:
1. Manual Submission i.e. you go to each Search Engine and submit your url via their manual submission process.
2. Automatic i.e. you use an automatic submission service and they will submit your url to every Search Engine automatically via a multiple-database submission. Either way it will take approx. 6-8 weeks for your site to be indexed.

FAQ: How does PAID advertising work?
Paid advertising options include Banner Ads and SE
pay-per-clicks (PPC), includes Google AdWords. PPC is a simple concept, you bid an amount you are willing to pay-per-click for each visitor to your site and you only pay when your url is clicked.

FAQ: Does Pay-per-clicks guarantee my website will rank high on the Search Engine Results Pages?
No guarantee of high ranking on the SERP as the skill in PPC is how to bid for keywords, whoever bids the highest for a given keyword is given top positioning for that keyword. Understanding how to bid requires
determining how much the acquisition of a new customer is worth to you (or what a site visitor represents to your business) once you've worked that out then you can put a value on the maximum price you can afford to bid.
If you are new to PPC it would be wise to consult a professional SEM company to avoid needless expensive mistakes and maximise your ROI, like optimisation,
there is a strategy behind PPC - if you get it right, you will be very successful, if you don't it will be very costly!
